Today, we are thrilled to extend that vision and announce CARTO’s latest Agentic GIS integration with Amazon Bedrock. This allows users to power geospatial AI agents and assistants using Large Language Models (LLMs) available through AWS services, fully aligning with existing cloud infrastructure, security, and governance.

Through our MCP Server, you can expose your CARTO workflows as accessible MCP tools. This enables your AI agents to run and operate fully on AWS, scaling your team’s geospatial expertise across the organization, without ever leaving your secure AWS cloud environment.

Setting up CARTO AI with AWS Bedrock is designed to be straightforward.
Select Amazon Bedrock on the CARTO AI page in Settings. Then enter the following configuration details to access AI models directly in your AWS environment:
- AWS Access Key ID
- AWS Secret Access Key
- AWS Region
